BAFTA Awards

Often considered the Academy Awards of Britain, the BAFTA is an accolade given by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts recognizing excellence in the movie and television arts. This star-studded event is held annually in London and is broadcast across the world. While the awards are open to all nationalities, two categories, Outstanding British Film and Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, are only eligible for UK films.

In addition to the award ceremony, BAFTA runs a year-round charitable program of educational events, magnifying their purpose to “”support, develop and promote the art forms of the moving image, by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public”.
